Future Site of Affordable Housing for Families in San Francisco

Mercy Parcel O
Fell and Laguna. SF Housing, 2015.

Location: Fell Street and Laguna Street
Type: Affordable Apartments
Units: 112
Estimated Completion Date: 2018
Developer: Mercy Housing and SFHDC

Through a competitive process, the SF Mayor’s Office of Housing awarded the development of Parcel “O” in Hayes Valley to a partnership of Mercy Housing California and SFHDC. Designed by Leddy Maytum Stacey Architects and Paulett Taggart, initial plans for the project yield 112 low-income family rental units, with a 20% set aside for formerly homeless households. The development will offer multiple community and resident spaces, including a garden and courtyard. SFHDC will also have a small, satellite office to coordinate financial empowerment and community activities at the site. Ecumenical Community Services will provide the enriched services for formerly homeless clients. We anticipate closing the predevelopment loan in March of this year, with a construction start by the end of next year, and project completion 18 months thereafter.
